Kyiv’s Strichka Festival reveals full line-up for 10th anniversary

Kyiv’s Strichka Factory will host the tenth anniversary of the Ukrainian music festival Strichka this month. The two-day festival, which takes place on May 18 – 19, will feature local and international artists like Ben Frost, Vân Anh, Eversines, and Marie K, Rouge Mecanique, Charlotte Benediks, and Enrica Falqui, among others. Many Ukrainian artists will also perform over the two-day festival, including Foa Hoka, Si Process & Dennis Adu, The Against, Nitso Potvorno, and Jocki Druce.

The festival is split between seven venues and clubs in the Strichka Factory area, and the seven stages range in genre from techno, house, ambient, and experimental dance music. The main stage, called Dvir, will feature a large visual installation, and the Garden stage will be hosted outdoors. The festival has this week announced that the theme for the year is Fragments, and it will be reflected in the art installations throughout the festival. Contemporary Ukrainian artists like Oleksiy Say, Sashko Dolgyi, Vlad Plysetskyi, and Maksym Poberezhskyi will have their work on display.

The theme of Fragments reflects that the festival, like life, has manifested into a dream, and that the festival organisers want to gather up those memories and let them go, to create a new iteration of Strichka, which they promise to be “cozy.” In addition to the stages, Strichka Festival 2024 will feature art workshops, an area for merchandise, and a food court.

Tickets are available now on the festival’s website, and the event promises to be a unique opportunity to experience Ukrainian music, art, and culture
