Mike McCready, lead guitarist of legendary band Pearl Jam, took a fall during a performance on the opening night of their world tour on May 4th. Despite tumbling on stage during his guitar solo performance of ‘Porch’, McCready valiantly carried on playing his Gibson Les Paul guitar while being helped back to his feet by a stagehand.
The Pearl Jam 2024 world tour came to life with a 25-song set at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, which included nine tracks from the band’s most recently released album. Seven of these tracks were played live for the first time ever, much to the delight of fans.
The tour, which was announced in February of this year, began in North America in May and continues through to June, with gigs taking place in Europe and the UK. Check out the full schedule on Ticketmaster and see Pearl Jam live in Manchester, Dublin, and London in June.
Dark Matter, the latest album by the Seattle band, has been widely praised by critics and earned a glowing four-star review from NME. In a recent interview, Pearl Jam’s lead vocalist Eddie Vedder suggested the band still has “one or two” good albums left in them.
Pearl Jam’s drummer, Matt Cameron, recently spoke about his teenage self receiving a cease-and-desist letter from KISS. The iconic band had deemed Cameron’s artwork for their fan club too similar to their own artwork. Despite the setback and potential legal trouble, Cameron’s love for the band remained unwavering, and he continued to pursue his goals
