JoJo Siwa, former Dance Moms star and singer, recently reacted on Instagram to Chloe Fineman’s impression of her on Saturday Night Live. Fineman joined Colin Jost during SNL’s Weekend Update segment, dressed in a black and silver sparkly bodysuit and KISS-inspired makeup similar to Siwa’s new look. The skit poked fun at Siwa’s new rebrand, including her goal to make “gay pop” and how she is in her new “bad girl era”. Siwa took to her Instagram stories to share her reaction to Fineman’s parody, describing it as “ICONIC” and “f***ing crazy.” Fineman responded to Siwa’s reaction saying, “@itsjojosiwa you are my spirit animal and ACTUALLY the most iconic.”

Siwa’s new era began with her comeback single Karma, released in April, when she revealed her dramatic new look. The press release stated that the track marked her new era, which would “kickstart an unfiltered, undeniable, and unrestrained phase for the record-breaking star.” In a new interview, Siwa spoke out about comparisons to Miley Cyrus, as fans have speculated that ‘Karma’ was actually a scrapped Miley Cyrus demo from 2011. Siwa said, “When I was 8, Miley had her ‘Bangerz’ moment and I was like, ‘All I want is to have that one day.’ I want that,” on a new episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. She continued that she is “proud” to share ‘Karma’, and that the “full 180 moment” is something that she has “always wanted.”

The skit on SNL saw Fineman imitating Siwa’s popular dance moves that have accompanied her various ‘Karma’ performances. However, Siwa seems to be taking it all in stride, reacting positively to Fineman’s impression. It is unclear what direction Siwa’s new era will take, but if her new single is anything to go by, it seems she’ll be exploring new sounds and styles. Regardless, Siwa’s fans are excited to see what she’ll do next and how she’ll continue to develop her music and image
