Here’s what Bruce Springsteen played as he kicked off 2024 UK and European tour in Cardiff

Bruce Springsteen officially kicked off his UK and European tour on May 5th at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Over the course of three-months, the singer will perform multiple dates, culminating with two shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. The first show in Wales was Springsteen’s first in the country in 11 years, and fans were treated to a three-hour, 29-song setlist.

Opening with “So Young And In Love,” an outtake from the 1974 recording sessions for Born To Run, the E Street Band performed a deep cut that hadn’t been performed live since 2013. Springsteen took the time to address the crowd, welcoming them to the show and acknowledging the power of rock ‘n’ roll. Signs requesting songs from fans are now customary at Springsteen performances, and this time, the E Street Band played “Better Days” and “If I Was the Priest.” During the introduction of the latter, Springsteen shared that he wrote the song 50 years ago.

Fans on social media shared their enthusiasm for the concert, including footage from the show and clips of songs like “Born in the USA” and “Dancing in the Dark.” The Serenbe Playhouse also plans to stage “Born to Run,” a musical inspired by Springsteen’s life and albums. Springsteen’s tour will travel through the UK and Europe, providing rock and roll fans with a long-awaited return in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic
