Madonna completed her ‘Celebration’ tour in Rio de Janeiro, with a crowd of 1.6 million at Copacabana Beach. The performance included a 26-song set list featuring hits spanning Madonna’s career. Brazilian musicians Anitta and Pabllo Vittar also made appearances, with Pabllo Vittar performing alongside Madonna on ‘Music’ for its tour debut.

Madonna declared Rio as the most beautiful place in the world with “the ocean, the mountains, (and) Jesus,” referring to the city’s famous Christ the Redeemer statue. According to Reuters, many of the show’s attendees waited for hours or even days to secure a good spot, while others watched from boats or beachfront apartments.

The free concert, Madonna’s first show in Brazil since 2012, took place at a venue that had previously hosted massive shows from other global icons. The Rolling Stones played at the same venue in 2006, while Rod Stewart achieved a record-breaking feat when he performed in front of 4.2 million people in 1994.

Madonna’s ‘Celebration’ tour was postponed from its original start date in July 2023 due to a life-threatening bacterial infection that left her family preparing for the worst. The singer has since recovered and celebrated her life and career by touring with her latest production
