Former Nickelodeon showrunner and producer, Dan Schneider, has filed a defamation lawsuit against the creators of the documentary series, Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV. Schneider, the writer and producer of several popular kids TV shows, including Kenan & Kel, Drake & Josh, and The Amanda Show, alleges that the documentary falsely implied that he sexually abused child actors during the production of his shows. The series was created by Warner Bros. Discovery, Maxine Productions, Sony Pictures Television, and others.
Schneider’s lawsuit claims that the series created a false impression of him in the edit and inaccurately associated him with other convicted child sex offenders who worked at Nickelodeon, including Brian Peck, who allegedly sexually abused Drake Bell as a child.
