Dua Lipa, known for her hit singles “Don’t Start Now” and “Levitating”, recently revealed that she “manifested” headlining Glastonbury festival with her third album, Radical Optimism. The pop star’s set will take place on the Pyramid Stage at the Worthy Farm event next month alongside Coldplay and SZA. Lipa has played at the festival before, on the John Peel Stage in both 2016 and 2017.
During an interview, Lipa shared with Zane Lowe on Apple Music how she has always “believed in manifestation big time.” She reveals how when she was working on her first record, she wrote a note about her hope to one day collaborate with Tame Impala, who is now a co-writer and producer on Radical Optimism. She also wrote another note about headlining Glastonbury on her third album, which is coming true this year.
Lipa shared with Lowe that she feels emotional talking about it and how headlining Glastonbury has always been her biggest dream. The pop star adds how she is always thinking about how her music will sound at the festival. She also noted how being given a “terrible slot” at Glastonbury in 2016 only fueled her desire to headline the festival in the future.
Throughout the conversation, Lipa hinted at some of her collaborators on Radical Optimism, including Tame Impala, turning up on stage with her at the festival.
