To mark the 20th anniversary of her debut album, ‘Unwritten’, Natasha Bedingfield has announced a vinyl re-release and London show. The album, which reached number one in the UK charts when first released in 2004, features tracks including ‘These Words’, ‘Single’, ‘Wild Horses’ and ‘I Bruise Easily’. It also includes the title track ‘Unwritten’, which enjoyed a resurgence after featuring in romantic comedy ‘Anyone But You’, and re-entered the charts in January for the first time in 19 years, peaking at number 12. Bedingfield said she was particularly pleased to hear that people were “actually singing it as they leave the theatre”.

In 2006, ‘Unwritten’ became the theme tune for MTV’s The Hills, reaching number five in the US Billboard Hot 100, and earning Bedingfield a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The release will be launched on 6 September and will come as a peach dream coloured vinyl, with a standard black version also available. Both will feature a four-page booklet of lyrics and images from the original CD release. Bedingfield has also announced a special 20th-anniversary celebration headlining gig at KOKO in London on 12 September, with tour dates running from May until September across the UK. A pre-sale of gig tickets will commence on Wednesday 1 May at 10 a.m. BST with general sale starting on Friday 3 May at 10 a.m. BST.

Speaking about the song’s resurgence, Bedingfield said: “Over the years ‘Unwritten’ has somehow become an anthem to sing at the top of your lungs. This makes me the happiest girl in the world as I have always felt that a good pop song is actually something you can belt. Like a good football song!”

Alongside her acclaimed debut, Bedingfield’s six subsequent albums have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. She has also built a reputation as a songwriter for other artists and as a campaigner on environmental and social issues
