Slipknot has revealed the identity of their new drummer, Eloy Casagrande, who recently performed with the masked metal band for the first time during an intimate club show at the Pappy + Harriet’s barbecue bar in California. The band confirmed the news via social media, sharing an updated promo photo featuring Casagrande in his signature mask and red jumpsuit. Some original members also wore throwback masks, while newer members revealed their own unique designs. The show was the band’s first live performance with Casagrande, who replaced former drummer Jay Weinberg late last year.
Slipknot is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, which founding member Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan has described as a return to basics. The band will be touring the UK this winter to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. In the same interview with NME, Crahan also hinted at new material and a change in the band’s touring schedule, stating that they are “not doing that anymore” in reference to their usual two-year touring cycle.
