Reports have emerged of a brutal dog attack in Dumfries and Galloway which left a woman seriously injured. Emergency services were alerted to the incident in the village of Kelloholm just before 18:30 on Saturday. It is understood that the dog involved was a large, bulldog-type breed which was subsequently destroyed by attending officers.
The injured woman was quickly transferred to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for medical attention. The incident is thought to have caused considerable concern among local residents, with many expressing their shock at the severity of the attack.
