‘Game Of Thrones’ actor Liam Cunningham hits out at Hollywood “ignoring” Gaza

Liam Cunningham, best known for his portrayal of Davos Seaworth in Game of Thrones, has criticised Hollywood celebrities who choose to ignore the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Speaking ahead of a pro-Palestinian rally in Dublin, Cunningham expressed his concern that those who know about the conflict but choose to do nothing are worse than those who are oblivious to it. He also warned that their silence would not be forgotten as the internet does not forget, adding that when the International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice have done their work, the truth will come out and those who did not speak out would be remembered.

Cunningham’s comments follow those of other notable figures in the entertainment industry who have spoken out about the conflict. Loach praised Glazer for his bravery, noting that he was sure he understood the possible consequences, which made him even braver.

Steven Spielberg also made comments about the current state of the Jewish community amidst the conflict. He added that the rise of extremist views had created a dangerous environment and radical intolerance led society to demonise the different. He also criticised the killing of innocent women and children in Gaza while acknowledging the heinous acts committed by terrorists.

As more people speak out about the atrocities being committed, it is hoped that the pressure will force those in power to act and bring an end to the conflict as soon as possible.

Cunningham’s comments emphasise the responsibility of people with a platform to speak out about the conflict. It is a reminder that silence is not an option in the face of egregious human rights abuses and that awareness and action must be taken
