Stevie Nicks has unveiled the initial line-up of special guests for her forthcoming concert at BST Hyde Park in London. The Fleetwood Mac star, who will perform a solo headline set on 12 July, announced that singer-songwriters Brandi Carlile, Anna Calvi and Paris Paloma will support her. “Many more” acts will be added to the bill in due course. The gig is part of Nicks’ UK and Ireland tour, which starts in Dublin on 3 July.
Carlile welcomed the news on social media. “When @stevienicks asks, you get on the plane. London, it’s been too long. ?? ? I cannot wait to see your sunburns at @bsthydepark,” she wrote. Paloma described the gig as “an absolute dream come true”. Nicks, who will be making her first appearance at BST Hyde Park since supporting Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers in 2017, said earlier this year: “Anything that draws me back to London – and therefore to England – fills my heart with joy.”
This year’s BST event, which takes place over three weekends, will also feature headline performances by Robbie Williams, SZA, Kings Of Leon, Stray Kids, Shania Twain and Kylie Minogue. Nicks worked with Carlile on Dolly Parton’s recent album Rockstar. The US musician has previously cited Fleetwood Mac as a major influence on her sound.
“Things can get really strange and I love that about bands,” she told Scene magazine in 2015. Nicks, whose UK and Ireland tour concludes at the BST gig, has a reputation as a gripping live performer. She has sold over 140m records worldwide and has won awards including eight Grammy Awards, and was the first woman to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice, once with Fleetwood Mac and again as a solo artist
