Kid Cudi’s return to Coachella in 2024 was cut short after he broke his foot during his performance. The rapper was performing at the California festival on Sunday at the Sahara Tent when he broke his foot after jumping off the stage to get closer to fans. He was carried out while his DJ played Steve Aoki’s remix of ‘Pursuit of Happiness’. The severity of Cudi’s injury is not known, nor is his recovery time.
Prior to his injury, Kid Cudi debuted two live songs: ‘MOON MAN SHIT’ and ‘BLUE SKY’, as well as performing hits including ‘Tequila Shots’, ‘Sad People’, and ‘Superboy’. It marked his first performance at Coachella since 2019, when he closed out the Sahara Tent and brought out Kanye West as a guest performer.
Kid Cudi thanked his fans for their support on social media shortly after his injury. “Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show. just leavin the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy. I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!! I love yall man. I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage. Made me smile big,” he wrote on Twitter.
Kid Cudi is due to tour North America with Pusha T between June and August this year, followed by the same tour in Europe and the UK early next year. It is currently unknown if the injury will affect the North American tour dates. In January, he released his 10th studio album ‘INSANO’ – a trap-inspired record that included verses from Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Pharrell, and Travis Scott, before he dropped the LP’s sequel ‘INSANO (Nitro Mega)’ in February
