Drake has released a new track called ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’ in which he taunts Kendrick Lamar. He uses AI versions of Snoop Dogg and 2Pac to highlight his point. Fans of Drake are not surprised by this latest shot fired in what has become a feud between the two rappers.
The Drake-Lamar feud has been ongoing for some time, and this is not the first time that the two artists have squared off on social media and in their music. Kendrick has previously challenged Drake’s status as a top rapper in the industry, while Drake has made digs at Kendrick’s lack of chart success.
On the new track, 2Pac’s lines include, “Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior / Engraving your name in some hip-hop history / Fuck this Canadian light-skin, Dot / We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man”, and Snoop also goads Kendrick into defending the West Coast legacy. Meanwhile, Drake mocks Kendrick’s inability to drop a new track.
The feud began on the 2023 single ‘First Person Shooter’, when Drake compared himself to Michael Jackson, after tying him for the most Number One singles on the Billboard charts. In response last month, Lamar took jabs at Drake on ‘Like That’, a track from Metro Boomin and Future’s joint project ‘We Don’t Trust You’. This feud does not look like it will be resolved any time soon
