THELMA announces debut EP ‘What We Live For’ via Steel City Dance Discs

THELMA has recently announced the release of her forthcoming EP titled ‘What We Live For’ which will be available on May 16 via Steel City Dance Discs. With its lead single of the same name, the EP is based on techno, Detroit electro, and breakbeat. The carefully crafted melodies in the EP emphasize the creative process and their importance to the music.

THELMA says, “I’m a melody driven person, so I always start off by writing a hook that excites me and work from there”, which makes sense given the focus on melody in her music. The writing process for her breakbeat tracks was still a fairly new experience, and THELMA credits testing different synthesizers and listening to other tracks until she found the sound and atmosphere she wanted. The other two tracks on the EP were written spontaneously after days of writing sessions where inspiration hit her.

The lead track, ‘What We Live For’, is out now, while her full EP will release on May 16, and available for pre-order at https://whatwelivefor.lnk.to/thelma. ” I had a stab pattern in my head that I recorded as a voice note and wrote the next day. Other times, this may take much longer, but it’s ultimately about writing out different melodies until one really makes me feel something”, says THELMA about creating the track.

Steel City Dance Discs is a renowned music label known for releasing electronic dance music and groundbreaking techno. THELMA’s EP will undoubtedly fit right in with the label’s vibe. It is sure to be a success among club-goers looking for new and exciting music.
