Morgan Wallen apologises for throwing chair off roof of bar

Country music artist Morgan Wallen has apologised after being charged with throwing a chair from the sixth floor of a rooftop bar in Nashville. Police officers were standing outside Chief’s bar when a chair hurled from above landed just feet from them. Wallen was charged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Wallen issued an apology, pledging to donate $500,000 to Black-led organisations, but a report claims he only gave $165,000 to a single group. The incident occurred only two days after the bar’s opening.

Wallen is scheduled to perform at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on May 3 after his court appearance. The singer’s appearance at the BST Hyde Park music festival in London will go ahead this summer. During his second consecutive show in Indianapolis on April 5, Wallen defended Taylor Swift when her name caused booing in the crowd.

Wallen has expressed his regret over the incident and acknowledged his responsibility for his behaviour. He has shown willingness to make amends with those affected and has not indicated that his upcoming tour will be affected
