Glastonbury 2024 to debut first ever South Asian dedicated stage

Arrivals will debut as Glastonbury’s first ever dedicated South Asian stage at this year’s festival. The new stage will be featured as a part of the famous Shangri-La area of the festival. The festival’s South Asian cultural organizations, Going South, Dialled In, and Daytimers, have contributed to the design of the venue. Arrivals will be featuring its first ever line-up this year that includes Bobby Friction, Anish Kumar, Nabihah Iqbal, and Nikki Nair.

DJ and broadcaster, Bobby Friction, has said that dedicated South Asian music, beats and DJ’s for the entire festival is just crazy and a personal dream come true. He added: “This is a seminal moment for UK festival culture. South Asian and British Asian music have had their own small festivals over the years and some Asian artists have performed in the big gatherings that are now a quintessential part of a British Summer.”

Earlier this week, it was announced that the entire line-up for the Shangri-La event was released. Festival goers can look forward to seeing Knecap, Bob Vylan, and Lambrini Girls among other artists. Glastonbury 2024 will take place from June 26th to June 30th and the bulk of the festival’s line-up has already been announced.

Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA will be among the artists to take the stage on the iconic Pyramid Stage in June. Shania Twain will perform in the coveted legends slot on the Sunday. Scouting For Girls, Ocean Colour Scene and Gipsy Kings will be headlining the Acoustic Stage. For fans who missed the ticket and coach package re-sale that took place yesterday, there is still a chance to buy tickets in the general admission re-sale, which is at 9am on April 21st
