Jazz musician Kamasi Washington has announced his headline tour, which is hitting the UK, Ireland and Europe in 2024. This tour is in support of his newly announced studio album, ‘Fearless Movement’ which is coming out on May 3 under the label Young. He will begin his Europe leg in Rome on October 3 with stops along the way in Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Porto, Bordeaux, and Paris. After that, Washington will make his way to the UK and Ireland, playing shows in Manchester, London, Cardiff, Gateshead, Leeds, Glasgow, and Dublin.
Washington has confirmed he has additional European gigs that are already scheduled to happen between October 28 and November 17, which include visits to Brussels, Warsaw, Krakow, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Oslo. Tickets for the tour go on sale at 10 a.m. BST on April 19. Fans can also access the pre-sale on 10 a.m. BST on April 18, through ordering ‘Fearless Movement’ before 6 pm on April 17.
Washington who previously sold-out O2 Brixton Academy is gearing up for his tour of UK and Ireland which will start on October 15 at the Albert Hall Manchester, followed by O2 Academy Brixton London on October 16 and will end in Olympia Theatre Dublin on October 23. He has stated that the album ‘Fearless Movement’ is his dance album: “It’s not literal. Dance is movement and expression, and in a way it’s the same thing as music – expressing your spirit through your body. That’s what this album is pushing.”
Andre 3000 is featured in the record on flute, alongside George Clinton, BJ The Chicago Kid, D-Smoke and Taj and Ras Austin of Coast Contra, Thundercat, Terrace Martin, Patrice Quinn, Brandon Coleman, and DJ Battlecat. ‘Fearless Movement’ is the follow-up to ‘Heaven and Earth’, Washington’s acclaimed 2018 album.
