Liam Gallagher has teased the possibility of more music to come with John Squire, following the release of their self-titled collaborative album which topped the UK charts last month. During a recent interview with NME, Gallagher hinted that the album is just the beginning, referencing the main course and dessert that fans can expect in the future. Squire added to the speculation by suggesting that they could release three albums together.
Gallagher also addressed criticism regarding the length of his joint UK, Ireland, and European tour with Squire. Defending their decision to play the album in full as well as a cover of The Rolling Stones’ ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’, Gallagher exclaimed that the gigs are just 10 songs and a cover, and questioned “what’s wrong with yous?” He also revealed that there are “little phone recordings [of] riffs and shit” that didn’t make it onto the initial album, which could be developed for a second one.
While Gallagher has previously dismissed the possibility of an Oasis reunion, he is set to go on a solo tour of the UK and Ireland this summer to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Definitely Maybe’. He will also be showcasing the album in full during his headlining slot at Reading & Leeds Festival 2024. Gallagher has also responded to Andy Bell’s recent comments about a potential reunion, stating that he doesn’t need the pressure of recreating their past success.
Overall, Gallagher and Squire’s collaboration appears to be going from strength to strength, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what the future holds for the duo
