Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden recently played his first solo shows in 22 years at the Whisky A Go Go venue in Los Angeles. The two nights were surprise gigs, and Dickinson performed under the pseudonym The House Band Of Hell. This was his first solo concert since 1999.
Dickinson played a similar set list on both nights, featuring tracks from his solo albums: Accident Of Birth, Abduction, Laughing In The Hiding Bush, Afterglow Of Ragnarok, Chemical Wedding, Many Doors To Hell, Tears Of The Dragon, Resurrection Men, Rain On The Graves, Frankenstein, Gods Of War, The Alchemist, Darkside Of Aquarius, Jerusalem, Road To Hell, Starchildren, The Book Of Thel, and The Tower.
Dickinson released his latest album, The Mandrake Project, earlier this year, marking his first solo record in almost two decades. He will also head out on a UK and European tour later this year.
In a statement, Dickinson said, “This album has been a very personal journey for me and I am extremely proud of it. Roy Z and I have been planning, writing and recording it for years, and I am very excited for people to finally hear it.” Dickinson has been busy talking about new rock and metal bands, commenting on why so few make it to arena-level. He also recently commented on U2, saying that he wouldn’t pay $1,200 to see them in concert
