Taylor Swift’s upcoming album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ has inspired Instagram and Threads to launch Easter egg activities. Upon refreshing Swift’s official Instagram page via the mobile app, fans will see a secret countdown of the new album. There are two other hidden features. Conversations with the hashtag #TTPD, #The Tortured Poets Department, #TorturedPoets, #TSTTPD, #Swifties, or #TaylorSwift on Threads will reveal a special shimmer effect. While celebratory hearts will appear on-screen when somebody “likes” a post marked with any of the above tags. Further exciting experiences are promised in the coming days.
Swift has also challenged fans to uncover a secret message on Apple Music during the album release week. Apple has hidden one word per day in her lyrics on the music streaming service. Every daily word will be located somewhere in Swift’s five playlists that were exclusively released on Apple Music earlier this week. The full message will be unveiled on April 18, the day before Swift releases ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ The popstar will follow this album with a tour that includes visits to the UK and EU later this year, joined by Paramore as a support act.
Elsewhere, Swift was recently seen partying in the crowd for Bleachers and Dom Dolla at Coachella. This year’s Californian festival is the first time Swift has gone since her infamous 2016 edition.
