Brent Cross: Three men in their 20s killed in Staples Corner car crash

Late on Sunday night at Staples Corner retail park in north-west London, three men were killed and one is in a critical condition after a car carrying five young people crashed. Police were called to the scene at 23:26 BST, and upon arrival, three men were found dead while two others were taken to hospital. It is believed that no other vehicle was involved in the accident, and the Metropolitan Police have launched an urgent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the event.

Metropolitan Police officer, Insp William McDonald, remarked, “Emergency services responded last night to what seems to have been a terrible accident. Officers are in the process of informing the families of the five young people, and the families will be supported by specialist officers. I send them my sincere condolences.” The families have since been informed and continue to receive support from authorities.

Though the details of the accident are scarce, at least a dozen police officers and fire crews remain at the scene. The car appeared to have crashed into bushes near the roundabout at Staples Corner West, where access to both the overpass footpath and an exit off the roundabout have been cordoned off with police tape. Additionally, a slip road from the A5 has been closed for the authorities to conduct their investigations.

As of now, no arrests have been made. However, the Met has issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward with any information that could help to establish the sequence of events
