During his set at this year’s edition of Coachella, J Balvin surprised fans by bringing out Will Smith to perform a cover of the Men In Black theme song. The Colombian singer’s stage was fitted with a giant UFO as part of the theme for his Spanish show, which incorporated all things alien. Smith rose from a platform dressed as his character from the original 1997 film and went on to perform his debut single ‘Men In Black’ in front of a massive alien head.
The song landed the Number One spot in the UK Charts, and earned the top spot on the Billboard US Rhythmic Chart and Number Two on the Billboard US Mainstream Top 40 Chart. Elsewhere in Balvin’s dynamic set, Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Jowell & Randy came through as surprise guests and performed ‘Colmillo’ with Balvin, as well as ‘Triple S’ with De La Ghetto, who also appeared as a guest.
Some of Balvin’s other popular hits like ‘Con Altura,’ ‘RITMO (Bad Boys For Life),’ ‘X,’ and ‘Mi Gente’ were also a part of his Coachella set. In other festival news, Reneé Rapp brought out Kesha for a cover of the latter’s hit ‘Tik Tok’ during her debut set. Sky Ferreira surprised fans with a rendition of Lady A’s ‘Need You Now’ during an unannounced opening song for Kevin Abstract that afternoon, while Lana Del Rey brought out Billie Eilish to perform ‘Ocean Eyes’ and ‘Video Games’ during her own Coachella set
