Kidnap, formerly known as Kidnap Kid, has released a new single titled ‘Overgrown’ which features Leo Stannard. The track is an upbeat house number infused with breaks and melodic choral effects. Stannard delivers yearning vocals that add emotion to the overall feel of the tune.
The new single is just a teaser of Kidnap’s upcoming second studio album, due to be released this fall. The album will address a turning point in the musician’s life since becoming a father and experiencing the pandemic. It reflects on his earlier partying days and places focus on his new role as a parent, resulting in a burst of creativity and club-ready music.
Kidnap explains that with ‘Overgrown’, he has written a love letter to the friends he has known from the times he has left behind. He says the track is a bittersweet lament for summer nights and the fading lights of youth. Kidnap is especially thrilled to have Stannard’s voice feature on his latest project, as it is integral to his musical story.
