Bruce Springsteen gave a rare live performance of ‘Seeds’ during his concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on April 12. ‘Seeds’ was recorded during the sessions for Springsteen’s 1983 album ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ and a live version from a Los Angeles show in 1985 was subsequently released on the ‘Live 1975-85’ box set. The track had not been played live since a performance at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2016. Springsteen also performed two other tracks from his extensive back catalogue, ‘Lucky Town’ and ‘I’m on Fire’.
Springsteen recently enlisted Tom Morello to perform two songs for the first time on his current tour in the US. He also contributed to Mark Knopfler’s charity re-recording of ‘Going Home’ which featured an array of rock luminaries including Brian May, Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton and Ronnie Wood. His upcoming ‘Best of Bruce Springsteen’ compilation album is due for release on April 19 via Sony Music.
The Boss will return to the UK and Ireland for his 2024 tour, for which tickets are still available. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Jeremy Allen White will play a young Springsteen in an up-coming film that details the making of his acclaimed ‘Nebraska’ album.
