‘Heroes’ is reportedly getting a reboot series ‘Heroes: Eclipsed’

Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, is set to reboot the popular US television series with a new incarnation, Heroes: Eclipsed. Unlike its predecessor, which ran from 2006 to 2010 and depicted ordinary people discovering that they have supernatural abilities, the new series will be set years after the events of the original and will feature a new set of characters who represent the latest step of human evolution.

The original series, which starred Hayden Panettiere, Santiago Cabrera, Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia, Kristen Bell and Zachary Quinto, was a major hit for NBC and picked up Golden Globe, Emmy and BAFTA awards. Heroes: Eclipsed is set to include familiar villains alongside new enemies, which is exciting news for fans of the show.

Heroes Reborn, a limited sequel series, was aired in 2015, also helmed by Kring. Like Eclipsed, Reborn was set years after the original and introduced a host of new characters. The possibility of expanding the Heroes universe further in the future was discussed by Kring, who said that he felt confident that there were more stories to tell with returning and new characters.

Heroes: Eclipsed is currently being pitched to buyers, including original platform NBC and the streaming services. Universal Studio Group is set to host the new show, having presided over the previous incarnations. There have been no confirmations about cast members
