Benga drops out of Coachella 2024 due to visa issues

Benga, the renowned dubstep pioneer, recently announced that he would be unable to perform at Coachella 2024 due to visa-related issues. The event was scheduled to take place in Indio, California, where he was set to perform alongside his musical collaborator, Skream, for a joint set.

The musician confirmed this news in a recent update posted on his Instagram page. He also added that he would have to cancel several upcoming tour dates. According to him, the visa process hit a snag at the last minute and additional information was required. He expressed his disappointment but also stated that he was respecting the process and remaining positive. Benga thanked his fans for their love and support and promised to keep them updated on the issue.

He concluded the post by stating that Skream would handle the duties of the joint performance, which would then be listed as a solo set. Benga also hinted that he would return next year and that he had called on some of the OG’s to step up in his place.

Benga and Skream had performed for the first time in a decade at London’s Skreamizm Weekender last October, after teasing their upcoming tour and new music in the spring. Benga had previously retired from music in 2014 after making the announcement on his official Facebook page, stating that he wanted to start a family with his partner, Holly-Jae Treadgold.

Coachella 2024 is set to kick off on April 12th and will see Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, and Doja Cat performing as headliners. Vampire Weekend was added to the bill on April 10th, and other notable acts on the line-up include No Doubt, Blur, Justice, Deftones, Grimes, Bleachers, and Khruangbin
