NME Screens, in collaboration with Warner Bros. UK, is presenting a special preview event of Luca Guadagnino’s latest film, Challengers, in London later this month. The screening will be free for all attendees.
Launched in March 2023, NME Screens provides exclusive film and TV experiences for NME readers across all platforms, including print, online, and social media. Previous sold-out screenings have included movies such as Meet Me In The Bathroom and Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.
Challengers is a stylish drama set in the ultra-competitive world of professional tennis. It stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a gifted young tennis player who is forced to retire early due to injury. Rather than walk away from the sport, she agrees to become the coach of her old friend, Art Donaldson (Mike Faist), who is a professional player that needs a boost. As they strive for Grand Slam success, they fall in love and start a family. However, when Art runs into problems with his game, Tashi’s possessive ex-boyfriend, Patrick Zweig (Josh O’Connor), reappears, and things take a complicated turn.
The event will take place at London’s Borough Yards Everyman on Wednesday, April 24, two days before Challengers is released in UK cinemas. Exclusive NME merch will be available at the event, and tickets can be obtained for free through Fixr.
Challengers promises to be another enthralling and atmospheric film from the director of Call Me By Your Name, and NME Screens is thrilled to provide this exclusive opportunity to movie-going fans across the UK
