The Jon Snow-led Game of Thrones spinoff has been cancelled, according to Kit Harington. The idea was first confirmed in 2022, with George RR Martin revealing that the prospective series was the brainchild of Harington. The show was to pick up where the main series left off. Unfortunately, two years later, Harington informed Screen Rant producers “couldn’t find the right story to tell”. “Currently, it’s off the table, because we all couldn’t find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough….There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no. It’s firmly on the shelf,” he said.
Despite this disappointing news for fans, there are two other shows left in the pipeline. The second season of House of the Dragon, set to return from June 16, will focus on the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.
