During the recent London residency of Thundercat at KOKO, Damon Albarn surprised fans as he joined the bassist on stage. Albarn performed a few solo tracks and a Gorillaz song for the delighted fans. However, it is unsure if Albarn had planned the performance as part of his UK tour. Thundercat’s residency at KOKO lasted for four nights, and the surprise addition of Albarn on stage on the third night was the highlight for many fans.
Thundercat later announced that he would be performing at this year’s All Points East in Victoria Park, and Bonaroo in the US. His unique combination of jazz and funk music continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Meanwhile, Albarn and his team, Blur, are scheduled to play at an intimate gig prior to their performance at Coachella. The Coachella Festival is a popular annual music event in California, USA.
Despite briefly disappearing from the music scene, Albarn has come into his own in recent years with his releases with Gorillaz and solo albums. Thundercat, on the other hand, has become a cult sensation, and many fans appreciate his unique blend of genres. Together they brought down the house at KOKO as they performed their songs.
