Billie Eilish’s third studio album ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ is set to be released on May 17, according to an announcement made by the singer on her Instagram page. The album artwork features Eilish barefoot, underwater, and sinking below a white wooden door. The album was written by Eilish and her brother, Finneas, and will be available in digital and limited physical variants. Eilish has confirmed that the physical copies of the album will be made using 100 per cent recyclable materials.
Eilish will not be releasing any singles from the project before the official release date as she wants fans to be able to hear the album “all at once”. According to a recent press release, Eilish and Finneas are both extremely proud of this album and can’t wait for fans to hear it. The album follows the release of Eilish’s most recent album ‘Happier Than Ever’, which was released in 2021.
Eilish has previously expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of sustainability in the vinyl world. The announcement of the 100 per cent recyclable materials used for the physical copies of the album reflects Eilish’s commitment to sustainable practices.
Last year, while appearing on Dua Lipa’s ‘At Your Service’ podcast, Eilish spoke about the changes in the creative process for her third album. She stated, “Everything is different about it. I’ve been trying to compare recently, just because I’m getting used to doing it in a different way. And trying to be like, ‘It’s OK to do that. I’m OK. I’m still able to do that; I’m capable still.’”
‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ will be Billie Eilish’s third studio album. Her first album arrived in 2019 with the breakthrough LP ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’
