The Metropolitan Police has launched a murder investigation after a man was found with fatal stab wounds in Haringey, North London. The man was discovered unresponsive near Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at around 5:51am on Sunday. Despite receiving immediate medical treatment, including CPR, the man was declared dead at the scene. Police have not made any arrests in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club confirmed that Sunday evening’s match against Nottingham Forest would still go ahead. In a statement, the club said that they are cooperating with the police investigation and will update fans on the situation as they receive further information.
Specialist detectives are now working to establish the identity of the victim, and to identify and apprehend those responsible for the incident. Local residents have been thanked for their cooperation during the ongoing investigation, and urged to contact the police with any information that may be of assistance.
