Moderna shares second single, ‘Filter Me’, from debut album ‘The Future Is Among Us’

Moderna just released ‘Filter Me’, which is the second single pulled from her upcoming album, ‘The Future Is Among Us’, due for release on May 10th. The album was created across a seven-year timeframe and features a mix of influences from both Berlin and Mexico City. Despite its diverse sound, the album is a cohesive body of work tying everything together.

‘Filter Me’ is a sultry, driving single that offers a different experience to the lead track ‘DIE4U’. The vocals are warped, which creates a tension that adds depth to the song while a pummelling snare drum drives the beat forward. The album focuses on dance anthems and explores emotional depth with tracks like ‘Lost at Heart,’ a collaboration with post-punk artist Skelesys.

Moderna looked to the LGBTQ+ community to harness influences for the album. The album takes inspiration from the vibrant electro and darkwave indie scene happening in Berlin, including artists Local Suicide, Curses, Franz Scala, Jennifer Touch, Skelesys, Tom Peters, and many more.

“I’ve found an incredibly supportive and thriving community,” Moderna explains, “We’re all pushing boundaries and creating exciting music on our own and together, artists. It’s an inspiring environment to be a part of right now”.

‘Filter Me’ by Moderna is available now and can be found on her ‘Brave New Records’ imprint, while her album is set for release on May 10th.
