Holmes Chapel in Cheshire, the village where Harry Styles grew up, is set to hire superfans to lead guided tours of the area. In the past year, more than 5,000 people visited the village to trace the roots of the famous musician. As a result, Holmes Chapel Partnership, a community group, will be holding an audition day later this year to select tour guides.
Some of the areas to be included in the tour are the bakery where Styles worked part-time, his former schools, and the terraced house where he grew up. Fans are also invited to visit the railway bridge called Twemlow Viaduct, which is said to be the location of his first kiss. It is also known as ‘Harry Wall’ and bears Styles’s signature, scrawled during the 2013 biopic. Fans have also written their names on the wall near where he wrote his.
Tours are expected to commence in June and end in September this year. Peter Whiers, the chair of Holmes Chapel Partnership, said they were anticipating a high demand for the new tours. Even during wet winter months, “Harries have continued to visit, braving muddy banks and wet fields to pay homage at Harry’s Wall,” he added.
In February of this year, a woman accused of stalking the One Direction member sent him 8,000 cards in less than a month. Myra Carvalho, 35, allegedly sent Styles handwritten letters and numerous cards after ordering them online. The cards were wedding-themed, according to prosecutors. Carvalho was remanded in custody after failing to enter a plea. She will face a hearing in court on April 19
