This ‘Super Hans’ Easter egg in Croydon is making Peep Show fans very happy

An Easter egg referencing Peep Show character Super Hans has been discovered in Croydon. The image was shared online and fans of the show have been expressing their delight at the discovery. The development in Zodiac Court is on the site of Apollo House, which is the setting where Mark and Jez’s flat was located.

Peep Show was a popular British sitcom which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. The show followed the lives of bank manager Mark Corrigan and his unemployed roommate Jeremy Usborne, as well as their friends and partners, including Super Hans, the drug addict, and Olivia Colman as Sophie.

In a digital image of the new development, fans have spotted what appears to be an Easter egg linking the show. One image features what appears to be a retail unit called ‘SuperHans’, in reference to the show’s beloved character.

Last year, co-writer Sam Bain revealed that they received offers to turn the popular sitcom into a play. Speaking about the offers, Bain admitted that he and co-writer Jesse Armstrong had to reject the proposal because they couldn’t figure out how to make the show work on stage. The iconic comedy was shot with the actors performing to camera and the characters’ internal thoughts being added as narration.

Iain Morris, the show’s script editor, explained how Ricky Gervais helped save the series from being cancelled. Gervais was one of the show’s big early supporters and helped convince the network to keep it on air. “He kept talking about it. Because The Office was so huge, his love for Peep Show effectively got it recommissioned,” Morris commented
