Chance Perdomo, the British-American actor best known for his role in the Netflix horror series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has passed away at the age of 27. The actor died after being involved in a motorcycle accident, his publicist confirmed. The exact location and circumstances surrounding the accident are still unknown, but the publicist has stated that “no other individuals were involved.”
Perdomo was born in Los Angeles and raised in Southampton. In 2019, he was nominated for the Best Actor award at the BAFTA TV Awards for his role in the BBC Three drama Killed by My Debt. Following his passing, his publicist released a statement saying, “His insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him. His warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest.” The statement also asked for privacy for Perdomo’s family as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.
Perdomo’s acting career began in 2017, with a part in the CBBC series Hetty Feather. He later went on to play Ambrose Spellman in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which earned him a place on BAFTA’s “Breakthrough Brits” list in 2019. Additionally, the actor portrayed Andre Anderson in Amazon Prime’s superhero series, Gen V.
Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, the co-producers of Gen V, released a statement after Perdomo’s death, calling him a “charming” and “enthusiastic force of nature.” They also stated that “even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense.”
In the run-up to the 2019 BAFTA awards ceremony, Perdomo returned to his former Southampton secondary school to give a talk to Year 10 pupils. During this talk, he spoke about the importance of working hard and pursuing your passions. Redbridge Community School’s headteacher Jason Ashley spoke to the Southern Daily Echo about Perdomo’s visit, stating that “he told them it was just his passion for acting and not for fame that got him where he is now.
