AURORA announces new album ‘What Happened To The Heart’ and announces UK and European tour

AURORA has announced her fourth studio album titled ‘What Happened To The Heart?’ and tour dates across the UK and Europe. This news arrives after the Norwegian singer teased fans by releasing the introspective single ‘Some Type Of Skin’ last week. The forthcoming album is set to track AURORA’s journey from self-destruction to self-healing whilst exploring the loss of spiritual connection in modern society, the power of vulnerability in healing and bringing together politics and personal growth.

The inspiration for this album project came from a letter co-written by indigenous activists titled ‘We Are The Earth’, urging for a global response to climate change to help “heal the land.” ‘What Happened To The Heart’ was recorded between Norway, Germany, London, and Los Angeles, resulting in the singer’s most personal and cathartic album she has written, featuring Ane Brun, Matias Tellez, Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers, Chris Greatti, Dave Hamelin, Magnus Skylstad and more.

AURORA is set to headline festivals throughout the summer, including Glastonbury, NOS Alive, Summer Sonic, and Sziget. She’s also scheduled to perform across the UK and Europe, which kicks off on September 18 in Milan, Italy. The UK leg of her tour will see her play the Royal Albert Hall on October 2 and the O2 Apollo in Manchester two days later. Tickets will be available for purchase from April 5.

‘What Happened To The Heart?’ will release on June 7 via Decca Records/Glassnote/Petroleum, followed by AURORA’s tour in September and October. This album marks a new era for AURORA, leaving behind her natural open space writing environment and stepping out of her comfort zone, working on it while on tour. The album is available for pre-order via the official AURORA website. In November of 2021, she made her return back to music with two tracks, ‘Your Blood’ and ‘The Conflict Of The Mind.
