Skid Row has announced that Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale will front the band during their upcoming tour dates this May and June. The announcement followed Erik Grönwall’s departure from Skid Row due to health concerns. Grönwall was diagnosed with leukemia before joining the band earlier in 2022. He parted with Skid Row in an amicable manner, and the band wished him well as he focuses on his health and recovery.
“Longtime friend Lzzy Hale of Halestorm will be taking over vocal duties for the upcoming scheduled four concerts,” Skid Row shared on social media. Grönwall found touring with an impaired immune system, which was the result of his bone marrow transplant, challenging. “I have decided that it’s better for me to step aside,” he said. “I love Skid Row, I have nothing but respect for the guys in the band but I love and respect my health more.”
Lzzy Hale expressed her gratitude to the band, saying, “What an honor to call them my friends and a privilege to be sharing the stage with them! Erik, I wish you all the magic on your next adventure.” The four concerts are scheduled between May and June in Cartervill, Riverside, Reno, and Sacramento. Skid Row will perform at Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort, Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, Nugget Casino Resort, and Hard Rock Live Sacramento, respectively.
Skid Row plans to release a live album to celebrate their time with Grönwall and their history as a band. Details regarding the album are expected to be released in the coming weeks or months. Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale is an accomplished artist, singer, and guitarist. Her performances as the lead singer of Skid Row’s upcoming concerts are highly anticipated by music fans
