Several notable musicians are contributing to a new charity compilation album called “Noise For Now, Vol. 2.” The album is set to release on June 21st and all proceeds will benefit independent abortion providers in the United States. It is a follow-up to a previous compilation released by Noise For Now, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting grassroots reproductive justice organizations.
The album will feature tracks from a diverse group of artists, including Faye Webster, The War on Drugs, and David Byrne. Other contributors include Courtney Barnett, Devo, Julia Jacklin, and Big Freedia. Each track on the 11-song album will be a unique contribution from one of the artists.
“Vol. 2” is particularly significant given recent changes to abortion laws in the United States. Since the US Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade ruling in 2022, there has been a growing need for advocacy and support for independent abortion providers. Noise For Now has been working to fill that gap by connecting these providers with artists who can help raise awareness and funds for their cause.
The track listing for “Noise For Now, Vol. 2” includes songs like Julia Jacklin’s “Dead From The Waist Down,” Courtney Barnett’s “Boxing Day Blues (Demo),” and Becca Mancari’s “It’s Too Late (Demo).” The album is sure to be a powerful collection of music that showcases the important work being done by Noise For Now and other reproductive justice organizations
