Blondshell and Bully have teamed up to release a new single called ‘Docket’. This marks the first new music from Blondshell, also known as Sabrina Teitelbaum, since late 2023. The song starts off with a slacker-rock sound before building up into a hard-hitting rock instrumental.
In an interview, Blondshell discussed the meaning behind the song, saying, “For me this is a song about splitting off from yourself. It’s about uncertainty when you’re in different environments all the time. In a way it’s about wanting to cope with distance and change but it’s also just a bit about being reckless.” She also expressed her admiration for Bully, saying that she kept hearing her voice on the track and was in awe when she agreed to collaborate.
Likewise, Bully praised Blondshell and expressed her excitement at being a part of the project. “It makes me really happy seeing so many musicians in our indie world supporting and admiring one another,” she said. “So thank you Sabrina and special shout out to her dog who I am a massive fan of as well.”
Blondshell has recently been announced as a performer at several music festivals, including Green Man, Hinterland, and Governor’s Ball. Her self-titled debut album, which was released last year, received critical acclaim and was described as “one of the alternative rock albums of the year.” Despite her success, Blondshell has opened up about feeling pressure to succeed in the music industry at an older age, something which is often dismissed in a youth-focused industry
