Korean-American rapper Tablo of Epik High has revealed the upcoming release of his solo single ‘1000 Years’, featuring Taiwanese musician J.Sheon. The announcement came with a teaser clip of the music video, featuring a soft piano melody and a group of characters chasing each other. Tablo shared on X (formerly Twitter) that ‘1000 Years’ would be performed in English and Mandarin and called it a song that will “speak to anyone who has experienced heartbreak”. The single will be available from March 29 at 11am KST/10pm EST.
This release follows Tablo’s confirmation to Rolling Stone last year that he was working on his second solo album, which would include a collaboration with BTS leader RM. Tablo’s solo debut album ‘Fever’s End’ was released in two parts in late 2011, which featured collaborations with artists such as Big Bang’s Taeyang and Naul of Brown Eyed Soul. Epik High released their last album ‘Epik High Is Here’ in two parts in January 2021 and February 2022.
In the teaser clip, ‘1000 Years’ plays in the background while characters chase each other. The piano melody and J.Sheon’s voice combine for a soft and melancholic sound. Tablo has been active in the Korean rap scene since 2001 and co-founded the hip-hop group Epik High in 2003. The trio has released nine studio albums and has won multiple awards. With a release date of March 29, fans are eagerly anticipating the new single from Tablo and J.Sheon.
