The body of Bobby McKee, a man in his 60s, was discovered in a house in Kilkeel on Thursday, and is now the subject of a murder investigation. A woman, who was found at the same location, also in her 60s, sustained serious injuries to her head, and is receiving treatment in an area hospital. An arrest has been made in connection with the incident: a 25-year-old male remains in custody, being held on suspicion of both murder and attempted murder.

Anne Coffey, a representative from the New Beginnings Charity shop in Kilkeel, made a statement, saying that Mr McKee had been known to her through her work with the Mourne Presbyterian Church, and where he served as a caretaker.
