Robbie Williams’ dance side-project Lufthaus to make UK live debut at Creamfields 2024

The critically acclaimed dance side project, Lufthaus, formed by British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams, DJ Flynn Francis, and producer Tim Metcalfe, has announced its UK live debut at the sold-out Creamfields festival taking place between the 22nd-25th August 2024, which be held at the familiar site in Daresbury, Cheshire. The trio will take to the festival’s Arc stage for their highly anticipated set, scheduled for the festival’s final day at sunset. Williams has shown an inclination for dance music in his work in the past with tracks such as ‘Rock DJ,’ released in 2000, and we now understand that the formation of Lufthaus has given him the freedom to focus exclusively on the genre.

Lufthaus’ UK debut is part of a stacked line-up for next year’s festival, where attendees will also enjoy the presence of Calvin Harris, Tiësto, Michael Bibi, Steve Angello, Alesso, Hardwell, Bicep present CHROMA, Eric Prydz, Martin Garrix, Camelphat, Armin van Buuren, Charlotte De Witte, Peggy Gou, Fisher, Fatboy Slim, Ben Hemsley, Example, Scooter, Pete Tong, John Summit, Layla Benitez, Ben Nicky and Will Sparks. Alongside headlining acts, Chris Stussy, Artbat, Barry Can’t Swim, Sub Focus, Third Party, Kings of the Rollers, Darren Styles, Gorgon City, Girls Don’t Sync, blk, Franky Wah, and Sarah Story are also set to perform at the festival.

The trio released their debut album, ‘Visions Volume 1’, last year, which was recorded across the UK and Australia. Immortal, the standout single from the LP featuring vocalist Sophie Ellis-Bextor, enjoyed critical acclaim and significantly increased anticipation of Lufthaus’ live performances. The project was inspired by the trio’s fondness for the electric scene in Berlin. Lufthaus formed during the pandemic, largely caused by their appreciation for clubbing. Williams described the LP as their heart, soul, and vision for what electronic music could be in a statement, adding, “with Tim and Flynn by my side, we’ve embarked on a musical journey that we’re eager to share with the world.”

The forthcoming festival has unveiled a new 30,000 capacity indoor main stage called APEX, which will be the largest indoor festival superstructure globally. The stage’s production is bound to be impressive, with the festival promising a “jaw-dropping” display which will enable the festival to continue until 4 am on Saturday night for the first time
