Travis frontman Fran Healy has confirmed that the band’s upcoming album ‘L.A. Times’ will focus on the social disparities of the city, with lead single ‘Gaslight’ centering on defeating the insidious form of mind manipulation. Despite his own personal traumas, Healy stated that none of them will feature on the record itself. Healy continues to share personal experiences about Gaslight’s effects on his kids, friends, school, police, and politicians alike. Over the years, there has been no change in the occurrence of Gaslight, but it should be nice for individuals to emancipate themselves from it.
The album’s title song centers on the poverty-stricken area Skid Row where Healy has his studio. The track is a spoken-word piece, and Healy expressed how intense things are in Skid Row, as they drive by people with nothing while someone in a Lamborghini with mirrored glasses drives through. The band Travis has a legendary history that spans two decades and is preparing to support The Killers across their 16-date UK and Ireland arena tour. Healy is delighted to be a support band again, something he loves, reminding him of the great times they had supporting Oasis on the ‘Be Here Now’ tour.
Travis’ iconic album ‘The Man Who’ has become 25 years old, but the impact of this album was like a death-defying album back then. No one had any idea where that record was going to go, and it went bananas, earning them a legendary headline slot at Glastonbury. Over the years, Healy has suggested the possibility of going on an anniversary tour for their 1997 debut album ‘Good Feeling’, which could happen for their 30th anniversary, and he thinks that would be freaking great.
