Eddie Vedder joined The Who on stage at Royal Albert Hall last night for TCT

During The Who’s set at last night’s Teenage Cancer Trust show at the Royal Albert Hall, Eddie Vedder stepped in to perform ‘The Punk And The Godfather’ from The Who’s ‘Quadrophenia’ album. The performance saw Daltrey and Vedder exchanging lines while delivering an energetic and passionate rendition of the song. The performance was well received by the audience in attendance, and a fan-shot video is available on YouTube. Though this was not the first time Vedder has performed with The Who, sharing the stage with them previously in 2000, 2015, 2019, and even at a private cancer benefit show in Los Angeles in 2022.

The upcoming “Ovation” show, which is set to close the 2024 TCT gig series, will feature Vedder. The show, which is billed as “a celebration of 24 years of gigs for Teenage Cancer Trust,” will also see appearances from Kelly Jones, Robert Plant with Saving Grace, Paul Weller, and Daltrey. This year’s series of shows will continue tonight with performances from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Blossoms. Finally, Young Fathers will play on the 22, and The Chemical Brothers will perform on the 23.

Daltrey is stepping down as the curator for the Teenager Cancer Trust concert series this year after 20 years of service. Since the introduction of the series in 2000, it has raised £32million to support those struggling with cancer. In an interview with NME, Daltrey shared his thoughts on the success of the charity, saying “We’ve done remarkably well, but it’s not to say we can’t do better.” Despite stepping down as the curator of the concert series, Daltrey will continue as an Honorary Patron of the charity.
