Philadelphia band The War On Drugs is set to tour the UK and Europe in 2024. The tour dates, announced last month, have seen a surge in demand, leading the band to add more dates. The tour’s opening night was originally scheduled on July 9 at Mountford Hall in Liverpool, with two more shows scheduled at London’s Royal Albert Hall on July 11 and 12. However, the band has now added two extra shows in response to demand: an opening slot at The Telegraph Building in Belfast on July 5 and a second Liverpool show at Mountford Hall three days later.

The rest of the tour will continue as planned, with the band traveling across Europe in the middle of the month. The expanded schedule includes performances in the Netherlands and Denmark. Tickets for the new shows in Ireland and Liverpool will go on sale on March 22 at 10 a.m.

The War On Drugs’ latest studio album, “I Don’t Live Here Anymore,” was released in 2021. The album received a glowing five-star review from NME, which described it as a “soul-stirring epic.” In addition to the UK and European dates, the band will also perform at several festivals and embark on a joint “Zen Diagram” tour with The National across the US.

There has been speculation about Adam Granduciel working on new music with Sam Fender after the latter posted a series of videos of the pair inside a music studio. If true, it would be the latest collaboration for the Geordie guitar icon, who recently teamed up with Noah Kahan on the hit single “Homesick.”
