‘Blade Runner Live’ announces new UK tour dates

Blade Runner Live has announced that it will be touring across the UK in September. The tour will feature the sci-fi film’s Final Cut version and the classic Vangelis score performed by The Avex Ensemble. The tour will commence with a show at Glasgow’s SEC Armadillo on September 18, followed by concerts in Manchester’s O2 Apollo and London’s Eventim Apollo before concluding in Bournemouth’s International Centre on September 28. Tickets will be available on Friday, March 22.

Lucy Noble, artistic director at AEG Presents, expressed excitement about presenting the iconic film to UK audiences once again. The film, which features Harrison Ford as cop Rick Deckard, tasked with hunting down replicants, “stands the test of time,” Noble said. “This will be a truly amazing and unique way for audiences to revisit this iconic piece of cinema with Vangelis’ iconic score as they’ve never experienced it before.”

The film had previously screened with an orchestra at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2019. Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the 1982 cult classic, was released in 2017, and a new anime TV series called Blade Runner: Black Lotus debuted in 2021. Additionally, Annapurna Interactive unveiled plans for a new Blade Runner game, Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth. Directed by Chelsea Hash, the game asks what it means to be a Blade Runner “post-Blackout.”

Blade Runner Live’s full tour dates are as follows: 18 – SEC Armadillo, Glasgow; 19 – O2 Apollo, Manchester; 20 – Eventim Apollo, London; 21 – Symphony Hall, Birmingham; 23 – Brighton Centre, Brighton; 28 – Bournemouth International Centre, Bournemouth
