Pop sensation Dua Lipa recently took to social media to announce four European shows as part of her ‘Radical Optimism’ tour, set to take place in the summer of 2024. The tour is in support of her upcoming album of the same name, which is slated to release on May 3, 2024, and boasts 11 tracks.
The tour will see the multi-platinum award-winning artist perform in Germany, Croatia and France, and marks her first headline tour since her “Future Nostalgia” tour, which had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans who pre-order Lipa’s album via her official webstore will have access to special pre-sales, while general ticket sales will commence on March 21, 2024.
Lipa has revealed that ‘Radical Optimism’ is inspired by her hometown of London, particularly the movement of ’90s Britpop, and will touch on the themes of self-discovery and optimism in difficult situations. The album is described as an ode to joy, happiness and resilience, with Lipa channeling her energy into crafting an album that is sure to resonate with her fans.
The album has already spawned two singles: the lead single ‘Houdini’ and the recently released ‘Training Season’, both of which received critical and commercial acclaim. Furthermore, Lipa has disclosed that she wrote 97 songs for the album and that it will be heavily influenced by artists such as Primal Scream, Massive Attack, Oasis, Blur, Moby and Gorillaz.
Lipa recently opened the BRIT awards, where she performed ‘Training Season’, and won the award for best ‘Pop Act’ of the year. She was also recently announced as one of the headliners for Glastonbury festival 2024, alongside Coldplay and SZA
