Early in the morning on March 15th, a fire broke out at model and actress Cara Delevingne’s Hollywood Hills mansion. The blaze caused the roof to collapse and consumed one room in the back of the house. The fire developed into a deep-seated attic fire, with the Los Angeles Fire Department reporting that 94 firefighters battled the flames for over two hours. One firefighter was injured and an occupant sustained minor smoke inhalation but all occupants were safely evacuated from the property.

Delevingne was not home at the time of the fire, as she was performing in London as Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre. In an Instagram story post shared after the incident, Delevingne thanked the firefighters and those who came to help. She also shared a photo of her two cats with the caption “My heart is broken today. I cannot believe it. Life can change in a blink of an eye so cherish what you have.”

Delevingne’s 1941-built “adult playhouse” was featured in an Architectural Digest spread in 2021. The publication also released a video tour of the home on YouTube as part of their “Open Door” series. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

It took hours for the flames to finally be put out. The physical damage included the collapse of the mansion’s roof and the loss of one room in the back of the house. Although one firefighter and an occupant sustained minor injuries, everyone was safely evacuated. Delevingne, who was out of town at the time of the fire, thanked the firefighters and expressed her sorrow at the damage to her home.
