The BTR Liverpool Half Marathon and BTR Liverpool 10 Mile Road Race are set to kick off on Sunday, March 17. Around 9,000 runners from across the globe are expected to run this year. The event will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, highlighting one of the longest-established running events in the region, and a significant highlight in the North West race calendar. The half marathon event will take participants through the city and into Sefton Park, passing by notable landmarks such as the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, Liverpool Cathedral and Museum of Liverpool before reaching the grandstand finish at Pier Head.

Additionally, participants are reminded that roads around the event will be closed before and during the race, and diversions will be in place. The affected roads include Upper Parliament Street, Belvidere Road, Princes Road, Ullet Road, and Greenbank Drive and Aigburth Drive.

The ninth BTR Liverpool 10 Mile Road Race will also take place the same day, with 600 participants expected to run. Race Director, Alan Rothwell, commented on the event, stating that the milestone event will be held in a vibrant city full of landmarks against the backdrop of the world famous waterfront. He added that it’s going to be an incredible event, part of Liverpool’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations, with people from different parts of the world joining and experiencing the atmosphere.
